The 2000 Contours layer contains contour lines depicting ground elevations at a 2 foot interval for all of Summit County. This is an update to the 1994 contours layer, originally compiled by Woolpert LLP from 1994 aerial photography. Kucera International, Inc. updated and error corrected contour data in areas specified by Summit County Geographic Information Services from aerial photography taken in April 2000.
To provide the taxpayers and agencies of Summit County a contour layer at a scale and accuracy useful for property appraisal, planning, and terrain analysis.

Dataset has been checked for the following topology line rules by Summit County using ESRI's ArcGIS 8.3 SP 2: Must not intersect or touch interior, must not have dangles, and must not self-intersect. Dangles occuring at the edges of the dataset have been marked as exceptions.
Attributes are accurate as determined from the source aerial photography from which they were compiled. No field verification was performed.
Dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for 1"=100' (1:1200) scale maps from aerial photography; scale of negatives are 1"=800' for 1994 photography and 1"=660' for 2000 photography.
Dataset was compiled to National Map Accuracy Standards for two-foot contours.
The completeness of the dataset reflects ground elevations interpretable from aerial photography and survey data at the time of photography: 1994, except in areas of change, which is 2000.
Append tiled coverages to a single, seamless, county-wide coverage.
